MyBag is a line of handbags each contains a small screen made of LEDs. The bags promote self-expression by providing customers an application in which they can design animation to be shown on their bag.

The outfit one chooses to wear is a way to express one's self. An outfit or accessory being worn is like a message sent to the surrounding world; it can come in different languages yet it always has a meaning, whether it is "I want to attract attention", "I am connected to my religious roots" or "I listen to Britney Spears". People over the history have used their outfits to express themselves and to convey their status, we are exploring how self expression can be pushed further combining technology with fashion.

We are used to personalizing our computerized environment and our gadgets by means of downloads, whether it is a new popular ring tone or our precious loved one’s photo as our desktops wallpaper. We are attempting to import this concept into the fashion world, offering people the ability download their favorite new designs onto their clothes. With this new technology users can express their emotions, style, musical taste etc. on a daily basis, changing their clothes expressions to their own beat or according to the latest trends. User-friendly software will allow users to create their own images to display on their everyday handbag and backpack. Exchange of animation with other users and designers will create an online community offering growth of subcultures and new fashion trends.

Our next step for this product is creating a platform for a community that is both a virtual social network and a physical one. The basic online arena will allow users to share animation, create multi-bag animation pieces and exchange thoughts and ideas. MyBag’s advantage is that it has a physically apparent existence witch can be used to extend the social interaction beyond the web. Not only will MyBag owners recognize other wearers; an addition of transmitters to the bags will notify when other Mybag community members are in proximity. Now the wearer can chose to search and interact with the fellow trendster. The transmitters also record usernames of other members that we passed through the day, so we can communicate online with people we missed during the day. Small communities will have to opportunity of creating a digital handshake to distinguish themselves. Collectors will pursue bags that once belonged to famous usernames. In one sentence: MyBag creates communities both on-line and on the streets.
